Motorcyclist dies in single vehicle crash

Kosciusko County, IN (June 6, 2023) - A Pierceton man was pronounced dead after a motorcycle accident Thursday night on Ind. 13, just north of East Shoop Road. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputies and emergency personnel responded Thursday at 10:00 p.m. to a single-vehicle motorcycle crash at that location, according to a news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
 


Emergency personnel arrived on scene and found a single motorcycle involved in the crash. Preliminary investigation and witness statements determined a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, driven by Edward D. Dempsey, 55, of Pierceton, was southbound on Ind. 13 at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle left the west side of the roadway striking a wooden utility crew support platform sitting off the side of the roadway.


Dempsey was thrown from the motorcycle and came to rest in the yard at 741 S. Ind. 13. The motorcycle continued south flipping multiple times before coming to rest. Dempsey was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office as a result of injuries suffered in the accident.

Man dies in Grant County motorcycle crash

Marion, IN (June 8, 2023) - A man died following a crash involving a motorcycle and minivan Tuesday night in Marion, Indiana.
 

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 10:00 p.m. Tuesday to the 3300 block of Central Avenue.They found a man dead at the scene and believe he’d been riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.



They also found a Dodge Caravan that had apparently been involved.



The driver of the Caravan consented to a blood draw, which is required in a deadly crash. The crash remains under investigation. The findings will go to the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Motorcyclist seriously injured in hit and run

Elkhart, IN (June 3, 2023) - The Elkhart Police Department is actively investigating a hit and run crash involving a motorcycle and vehicle that resulted in serious injuries.
 

The hit and run occurred shortly before 1 a.m., Saturday, near Cassopolis Street and Simonton Street in Elkhart, according to officials.

Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash with car

Indianapolis, IN (June 3, 2023) - A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with a car on the Northwest side of Indianapolis. The crash happened at the intersection of Lafayette Road and Shanghai Road and was reported a little after noon today.
 

At this time, there are limited details on what happened, but police confirmed that the motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.



Both directions of Lafayette Road were closed for several hours Saturday afternoon due to clean up and ongoing investigation.

Motorcyclist killed after crashing into horse

Elkhart County, IN (June 1, 2023) - A Bristol man is dead following an early morning collision between a motorcycle and a horse on the north end of Elkhart County. John Bryan, 45, of Bristol, died at the scene, at 3:37 a.m. Thursday morning at C.R. 35 south of C.R. 4, just northeast of Bristol near Vistula.
 


According to Elkhart County deputies, Bryan was driving north on C.R. 35 riding a blue 2017 Suzuki GSX when he collided with a horse in the lane. Officers report that Bryan was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but was deceased on scene.



Michael Lambright, owner of the horse said his horse escaped his property in the 13000 block of C.R. 4 at an unknown time. The horse survived with minor injury and was taken back into custody by Lambright. The incident is currently under investigation.
