Woman Critically Injured in Motorcycle Crash

Fort Wayne, IN ( April 22, 2022 ) - Fort Wayne police are investigating a motorcycle crash that left a woman with critical injuries. It happened just after midnight Friday in the 1200 block of North Coliseum Boulevard, just south of Lake Avenue.

Officers found the motorcycle lying in the northbound lanes. Two people were riding it at the time of the crash. Medics took a woman to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. A man had minor injuries and stayed at the scene to speak with officers.

 

Investigators believe the motorcycle was traveling north on Coliseum and hit the center median. They believe alcohol might have been involved.

Northbound Coliseum was down to one lane south of Lake while police cleared the scene. The crash is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.

Motorcyclist Arrested After High Speed Chase

Sullivan County, IN (April 3, 2022) - A Sullivan man was arrested after a high-speed chase Friday night that ended with the crash of the suspect's motorcycle.

Jeffery L. Meier, 59, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, controlled substance, marijuana and paraphernalia, resisting law enforcement, driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. He was booked into the Sullivan County Jail.

 

Indiana State Police Trooper Austin Robertson attempted to stop a motorcycle speeding 100 mph on Indiana 54 about 11:42 p.m. The driver failed to stop and traveled through the city of Sullivan, violating several traffic laws, traveling through local yards and continuing to speed, police said.

The motorcycle stopped after Meier lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch. Police said Meier tried to leave the scene but was stopped by Robertson.

Meier was arrested on the following charges:

 

• Resisting Law Enforcement, Level 6 Felony 
• Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 6 Felony 
• Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, Class A Misdemeanor 
• Operating a Motor Vehicle Intoxicated (Endangerment), Class A Misdemeanor 
• Possession of Marijuana, Class B Misdemeanor 
• Possession of Paraphernalia, Class C Misdemeanor 
• Reckless Driving, Class C Misdemeanor

A Sullivan County sheriff's deputy assisted in taking Meier into custody.

Indiana Man Injured in Michigan Motorcycle Crash

Porter Township, MI (June 11, 2021) - At around 10:30, Sheriff’s deputies responded to the intersection at U.S. 12 and Mason St. in Porter Township.58-year-old Scott Hunt of Union was attempting to turn into a private driveway when he struck a motorcycle traveling westbound on U.S. 12.

 

The motorcyclist, 33-year-old Nathanael Haines of Indiana suffered undisclosed injuries and was taken to a hospital in Elkhart. His current condition is not reported. Hunt was not injured in the crash.

Cass County authorities say alcohol was likely a factor in a crash involving a car and motorcycle Thursday night. At this time, no charges have been filed related to the crash as officials continue their investigation.
