According to police, the driver of a white Chevy Cavalier was traveling east on State Road 164 prior to turning North onto Dillard Road. The motorcycle driver Michael Parker and his wife who was a passenger, Charity Parker, both from Bedford, were traveling West on State Road 164.
The driver of the Chevy reportedly did not see the motorcycle approaching prior to making the turn until the moment of the accident. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.
Witnesses reported the driver of the white Chevy Cavalier turned into the traffic lane directly in front of the motorcycle. Two juveniles were in the Chevy at the time of the accident, one suffering minor injuries. The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were ejected and suffered life-threatening injuries.
Michael Parker, the motorcycle driver, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His wife and passenger, Charity Parker, suffered serious injuries and was flown by medical helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital after being treated at the scene by EMS. The Sheriff’s Department reminds drivers to be cautious and alert for motorcyclists on the roadways.
